Your Child’s Care Team

Formed for their benefit

When a child becomes an approved client of Children’s Developmental Services, a care team is formed including a clinical supervisor, behavior interventionist(s), the parents, and the child themselves.

Clinical Supervisor

The clinical supervisor administers any necessary assessments, writes the child’s individualized treatment plan, and provides support to the parents and the behavior interventionist.

Behavior Interventionist

The behavior interventionist (BI) works one-on-one with the child, focusing on their specific goals outlined in their individualized treatment plan. Each child can have one or multiple BI’s depending on their needs and the scheduling of everyone involved.

The Parents

The parents play an incredibly important role, as they interact with the child more frequently than both the BI and supervisor. The BI’s work with the parent(s), teaching them the methods for extinguishing negative behaviors and encouraging positive ones.

The Child Themselves

The child is also part of the team because we value teamwork over compliance. The children we serve and work with may not have direct say over their care, but our mission for each child extends beyond conformity. Depending on the child’s abilities, we consider client buy-in to be a huge factor in the child’s success. Our behavior interventionists welcome a child’s input when it comes to deciding rewards, activities, or similar details.
